Channukah

Channukah (חֲנוּכָּה‎)

Do you like fried food? Do you like playing with fire? Do you like tales of underdogs?... Then we have a holiday for you! Channukah (or Hanukah) is the Jewish "Festival of Lights" which comemorates the victory of the Macabees over an occupying force from Greece. The official holiday spans 8 nights and 8 days starting on the first sundown. Many of the traditional foods enjoyed during Channukah are fried in oil to symbolize the oil burned in lamps to sanctify the Temple in Jerusalem. Also it's delicious.
